When it comes to home furnishing, I like to think that I keep abreast of trends and even better, I like to sniff out styles and themes which are just that little bit out of the ordinary. You know that a style has been done to death when it starts appearing in every page of a home magazine or even worse in the budget shops and DIY stores.
That is why I love to keep an eye out for unusual pieces such as wall letters or small antiques, things that I know will define my style and not follow the crowd.
I want to feel confident that when friends and family come round for dinner or a drink they are not going to have the same blinds or ornaments as me.
It is the same when it comes to gardening, as I love to cultivate vegetables and plants which are just that little bit special such as ornamental chillies. The stunning Medusa or Black Pearl chilli is unlikely to be found in a garden near me and I revel in this.
Don't get me wrong, this is not through snobbishness, but I just like to find things for the home and garden which are just that little bit out of the ordinary and which will make a statement in the home.
